Meet Chef Kevin Blakeman
Kevin is the founder and head chef of Beaufort + Co. He has cooked across some of the best kitchens in the UK, Europe and New Zealand, and brings that craft home to a quiet corner of Albany.
For Kevin, food should make you feel something — comfort, surprise, nostalgia, or joy. That belief lives in every flat white, every brunch plate, and every box of doughnuts that leaves the kitchen.

Beaufort + Co opened on Oteha Valley Road in 2020 — a neighbourhood kitchen serving the Albany, Northcross and Bays community with warmth and honest, made-from-scratch food.
Our small team cooks and bakes everything in-house, from country loaves and cabinet pastries to the cult-favourite doughnuts that quietly disappear before lunchtime — hand-piped, hand-glazed, flavours changing with the week.
Beyond the daily café we run doughnut-making classes and Friday night pop-ups, and we cater right across Auckland. From the first flat white before school run to a full grazing table for two hundred, we cook the way we'd cook for family.
Kevin has cooked across some of the best kitchens in the UK, Europe and New Zealand over decades, and brings that craft home to Albany. His philosophy is simple — food should make you feel something: comfort, surprise, nostalgia or joy — and it should always be shared.
